Spicy Pumpkin Butter



1 can Farmer’s Market organic pumpkin or pumpkin pie mix
1/4 cup Dark brown sugar, packed (use 1/8 c if using pie mix)
2 tablespoon sugar
1/4 cup water
1/2 teaspoon allspice (omit if using pie mix)
1/4 teaspoon ginger (omit if using pie mix)
1/4 teaspoon cloves (omit if using pie mix)
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (omit if using pie mix)
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (omit if using pie mix)


Combine the brown sugar, sugar, water, allspice, ginger, cloves, nutmeg and cinnamon in a large 4-cup glass measuring bowl. Mix well and microwave on high for 3 minutes. Remove from microwave and stir before adding the pumpkin. Add pumpkin and mix to combine. Microwave on high for 5 minutes. Let cool completely and refrigerate.

    Thank you for this recipe. I bought the pie mix by mistake but then checked your website for recipes. I have made pumpkin butter before but this only took 10 minutes – awesome. It tastes delicious and it is my new go-to! I love that you show recipe modifications whether you are using plain pumpkin or the pie mix.
