Something To Smile About

What can we say…pumpkins make people happy.  Whether the association is a childhood trip to the pumpkin patch and pumpkin carving sessions (or an after-Halloween backyard pumpkin smashing)… pumpkin pie on Thanksgiving… Cinderella’s carriage… pumpkins seem to glow purely positive in our memories.  So, it should come as no surprise then that pumpkin as food really is something to smile about.  Loaded with nutrition and taste, organic pumpkin puree is a great staple item to keep in the cupboard.  I routinely add a can to stew, chili or spaghetti sauce just to increase the sauciness and add flavor. The fact that I am getting extra servings of fiber and beta carotene seems like a bonus.  So, pumpkin lovers out there, a question for you: What are some interesting ways you use pumpkin puree in your cooking?  Do share!

I just love your pumpkin! It’s the creamiest, the tastiest, the richness flavor of all I’ve tried. I love it being organic, and knowing how much care you put in to the fields and seeds to grow them. Your right, there is something about pumpkin that does put a smile on your face, and the health benefits are wonderful. People should try new things, pumpkin is not just for pie, like you I use it in many foods, including pizza!! Yes, I put little teaspoons of pumpkin on the sauce and they are like little orange pepperoni’s, I also use in all my bread, it adds to the flavor and gives a beautiful soft orange color while adding fiber. It’s a staple with my oatmeal, I mix it in and sprinkle with cinnamon & honey. I use it in smoothies, pudding, brownies, cookies, cake, cheesecake and making ice cream! I use it for creamy soups, pumpkin butter, and hot n spicy dips. It works in meatloaf even. And I make a sweet and spicy pumpkin sauce for ravioli and any pasta. I like your idea of adding it to spaghetti sauce too! It’s also great in homemade vegetable pot pies, the pumpkin absorbs the flavor of what you use it with and increases the healthiness of your recipe. I sure am glad your company is in this world making pumpkin and even happier it’s ORGANIC!!

    Thanks - Jerry
